Taking pictures of everything
Please ask before taking pictures of local people – especially at the
villages. It is forbidden to take pictures of any military facilities and
some special archaeological sites. |

Fake
products: Be careful when buying
cheep items from street hawkers. The goods might be of low quality. The
famous fake “perfumes” smell just a few minutes and the “original” watches
are only good for a day..... |

Inappropriate
clothing:
In big cities and in tourist places there is no dress code. But especially
if you are visiting a mosque, knees and shoulders should be covered. Women
have to wear a scarf. Always take off your shoes before entering private
houses or mosques. |

Nude
bathing: Nude bathing is not
allowed in turkey. „Topless“sunbathing is no problem in Hotels and Clubs,
but at public beaches it might cause irritation with the locals. |

|
Safety:
Turkey is a safe place, especially regarding the crime rate. But – as
everywhere in the world, at tourist places you should be aware of your
handbags!

|
Tipping:
10 % is normal, especially because of the low salaries for waiters.

Mosquito’s:
Between march and September there are a lot of mosquitos. The nights might
be quiet unpleasant. It is highly recommended to bring along mosquito spray.
